“The Rifter” Index
Palladium Books faithfully released 84 issues of The Rifter before going on hiatus last year. The Rifter has been a great source for all things Palladium. Whether you need a new O.C.C., new spells, weapons, or just an adventure to run on short notice, The Rifter has you covered.
I was fortunate to have a one-shot adventure I wrote published in The Rifter. As sappy as it may sound, getting published was one of the highlights of my adult life, even if it was just one article in one magazine. Check it out! “Band of Bothers,” in issue #68 of The Rifter.
The only problem with The Rifter is that there is so much information that it seems impossible to find what you need. Palladium Books had a running index, but that ceased somewhere around issue 40-something I think. Fortunately, I have a solution! I wrote a Rifter Index that is hosted online. Check it out here.
It’s a webapp written in ReactJS and hosted on Netlify. It was a pretty simple app to make (relatively). My biggest issue is that I”m not a UI/UX person; I can make things work well, but they look terrible. Fortunately, I had some help on this one, so it looks decent.
Enter a keyword, author, article, game, etc into the search bar at the top and Bam! There are your issues.
This involved a lot of data entry so I can’t promise I didn’t overlook something, but I think it’s pretty thorough.
I’m open to suggestions/comments you have may have. One request I’ve received a couple times is to have the article itself popup when the article is selected. Unfortunately, that would be a seriou copyright violation, so that’s not happening.
