Quick Update: Character Generator, Adventure, etc...

I continue to work on the Rifts character generator. I’ve become a bit discouraged, to be honest. It seems like every time I take a step forward, more steps appear in front of me. The problem isn’t “Rifts” itself this time, it’s my own limitations with programming. As I’ve stated before, programming has changed a lot since the C/C++ days of the 90s.

Part of me is kicking myself for giving up on the previous iteration of this project, where the generator was already sorta working. I gave up on it because I painted myself into a corner; I could not add additional O.C.C.s unless they were very generic. With my fresh start, the current iteration, I no longer have that limitation. But now I’m having issues getting the interface to work as desired.

I will get this working, it’s just discouraging right now.

Once it works, I need it to look nice. This is where I will definitely need outside help; I am terrible with interfaces. I do not have an eye for it, and I have difficulty getting responsive design to work. (Put simply, responsive design is where the same site/code works on a desktop browser as it does on a mobile device.)

In my next post, I may include a screenshot of two of how it looks at the moment.

In other news, I have a new downloadable one-shot on the way. This one is a little more complicated than my previous one-shots. I like it though. The adventure takes place in Madhaven and includes a twist! I’m also looking forward to the covert art that will be included, thanks to a friend of mine who also happens to be an artist.
